PROPERTY GUARDIANSHIP ARRANGEMENT

This is a Property Guardian licence arrangement and NOT a tenancy.

As a Guardian, you do not have the legal rights afforded to tenants under tenancy law. This arrangement offers no security of tenure and can be terminated in line with the licence agreement. You must vacate the property when required.

Key Expectations & Rules:

The property/room must be kept clean, tidy, and respectful at all times.
No damage to the property or any belongings.
No alterations, decorations, or additions without prior written permission.
No overnight visitors unless agreed in advance with the Property Owner or Supportmatch.
No nuisance, disturbance, or inconvenience to the homeowner, neighbours, or others.
No large or bulky items brought into the property without permission.
Provide around 3 hours per week of light domestic assistance / companionship (such as helping with shopping, light household tasks, or friendly company — normal everyday tasks, not onerous duties).
Follow any reasonable house rules set by the Property Owner or Supportmatch.
The arrangement is temporary and subject to the terms of the Property Guardianship Licence Agreement.

The initial meeting allows both parties to view the property, discuss expectations, routines, boundaries, and ensure the arrangement is suitable before proceeding.

IMPORTANT RULES: ALCOHOL & DRUG POLICY

We operate a strict zero-tolerance policy on illegal drugs and heavy drinking.

As a Property Guardian you may be matched with an elderly or vulnerable homeowner. Any use of illegal drugs, or heavy intoxication through alcohol that could make the homeowner feel unsafe or cause disturbance, will result in the IMMEDIATE TERMINATION of your guardianship agreement. You will be required to vacate the property immediately and remove all your belongings.

This rule exists to protect vulnerable residents and ensure a safe, respectful living environment. Breaches will lead to instant removal with no notice period.
